FILM DOCUMENTARY
My previous experience as a production designer and working alongside filmmakers has also influenced my approach to art. Collaborating with sound and video, though often in informal contexts like social media helped me understand the interplay between visual and video elements.Over the past few months, I’ve been working on a personal documentary about my grandmother, a project that has deepened my connection to storytelling. I have attempted to use documentations as projections onto my canvas in my latest work, blending video clips with static forms to create an immersive narratives.
This was a documentary I created as part of my selection for the PSBT Doc-Commune, a dedicated space for young filmmakers. It was a three-month mentorship program from June-September,2024 that provided guidance in filmmaking through talks, hands-on guided sessions, and workshops.

Synopsis:
Sheila, my grandmother, affectionately known as ‘Khakha’, a 70-year-old Panaji resident and widow of Dr. P. Audi, resides with my aunt and her autistic granddaughter.Born into the reputable and influential family, she navigated life with obedience and discipline.Despite securing a government job alongside her sister, she often felt deprived of life's simple pleasures, cherishing outings to fairs, movies and beaches.
Fond of local gambling, 'Modko,' she refrained due to addiction fears and reputation concerns. Khakha always encourages me to embrace modernity and career pursuits.
Today, still lively and beloved, she desires to experience Modko through someone else's involvement.
